1-ON-1 COACHING
In my 1-1 coaching practice, I meet individuals where they are on their antiracism journeys—whether they’re taking their first steps or are years into the work and seeking deeper embodiment. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and accountability-rooted. It centers not just on intellectual understanding, but on sustained behavior change and authentic transformation.
Using the Striving for Antiracism series (the My Imperfect Journey book and the two workbooks, A Beginner’s Journal and Moving from Intellectual Understanding Towards Embodiment), clients engage in structured self-reflection, storytelling, and analysis of their own socialization, biases, and behaviors. These tools create a framework for exploring how racism lives within and around us, and how we can move beyond performative allyship to become grounded, accountable co- conspirators.
Each session is intentionally designed to build awareness, increase emotional and somatic literacy, and support skill-building. We utilize journaling prompts, embodiment practices, storytelling, and somatic check-ins to help clients connect the dots between their upbringing, cultural narratives, and their current values and actions. I bring in additional resources—articles, videos, discussion guides, and reflections from other equity champions—to expand understanding and foster intersectional solidarity.
Clients also learn to:
Identify and unpack the pillars of socialization that shaped their racial narratives
Acknowledge their privilege and patterns of resistance without spiraling into shame
Practice imperfect engagement and take meaningful action, especially in moments of discomfort or defensiveness
Build accountability practices and integrate antiracism into their daily lives—not as a checklist, but as a lived commitment
My role is not to offer absolution or praise, but to hold space for honesty, growth, and deepening commitment. Transformation happens not in a single breakthrough, but over time—through discomfort, reflection, accountability, and connection. My job is to walk with you through that process with humility, care, and clarity.
Small Group Coaching
In small group and team coaching, I create facilitated spaces for collective growth, honest dialogue, and shared accountability. These sessions are designed for teams, organizations, and community groups ready to move beyond surface-level DEI initiatives and into the real, ongoing work of antiracism.
Using the Striving for Antiracism series (the My Imperfect Journey book and the two workbooks, A Beginner’s Journal and Moving from Intellectual Understanding Towards Embodiment), groups engage in layered, experiential learning. These resources serve as anchors for both structured self-inquiry and cross-conversation, supporting participants in identifying how racism shows up in themselves, their relationships, and their systems.
Group coaching sessions incorporate:
Collaborative reflection using journaling prompts, storytelling, and group dialogue
Embodiment practices to move understanding beyond the intellectual and into lived experience
Scenario-based discussions using real-world examples to build practical tools for racial equity in action
Strategic support to apply antiracist values to policies, culture, communication, and decision-making
I tailor each session to meet the group’s needs and readiness, balancing education, accountability, and relational trust-building. Teams explore shared values and unspoken dynamics, and individuals are invited to examine their own roles within the collective. We establish community agreements rooted in care, humility, and mutual responsibility to ensure brave, sustainable learning environments.
Alongside the Striving for Antiracism materials, I integrate articles, frameworks, and practices from fellow champions of equity and justice. These resources help groups contextualize their learning and expand their awareness across lines of race, gender, class, ability, and other identities. We also explore how to engage with:
Bias and power dynamics in team culture
Intersectional solidarity and allyship-in-action
Conflict and harm repair practices rooted in accountability and care
The difference between intent and impact in communication and leadership
Group coaching supports participants in moving from theory to practice—together. This work isn’t about being “perfect” or “woke”; it’s about being in an active relationship with one another and our shared commitment to justice.
Whether we’re working with a leadership team, a department, or an affinity group, the goal is the same: to foster cultures that are brave, reflective, equity-rooted, and in continuous motion toward antiracist practice.
