SPEAKING
Centering Courage, Accountability & Antiracism in Community
When I’m invited to speak at professional events, conferences, workplace retreats, and organizational gatherings, I bring a blend of honest storytelling, practical tools, and an unwavering commitment to collective growth. My talks are grounded in lived experience, informed by over two decades of antiracism work, and designed to resonate with both the heart and the intellect.
My approach is direct, relational, and deeply human. I speak not from a place of perfection, but from an ongoing, embodied journey of unlearning racism, disrupting harmful systems, and striving toward a more just and equitable society. I use stories from my own imperfect path—many of which are featured in Striving for Antiracism: My Imperfect Journey—to make complex topics accessible, relatable, and actionable.
Whether I’m delivering a keynote, facilitating a fireside chat, or guiding an interactive breakout session, I create space for:
Disarming honesty that invites reflection without shame
Critical questioning of internalized narratives and organizational norms
Connection across difference, including race, gender, power, and positionality
Tangible tools and next steps that participants can bring into their work and relationships
I often integrate content from my Striving for Antiracism product suite (the My Imperfect Journey book and the two workbooks, A Beginner’s Journal and Moving from Intellectual Understanding Towards Embodiment) as well as curated articles, tools, and wisdom from fellow racial justice leaders. My sessions can be tailored to speak to:
Leadership accountability in antiracist practice
Culture-building through an equity lens
Moving from intellectual understanding to embodied change
Recognizing and interrupting racialized harm in professional spaces
Strategies for sustaining discomfort, staying engaged, and practicing solidarity
Above all, I aim to create environments that are honest, grounded, and growth-oriented. Whether your audience is just beginning to engage with antiracism or looking to deepen existing commitments, I meet people where they are—and challenge them, with care, to keep going.
